Faculty Ensemble Lab
Swing Pass
The culminating experience of the Rocky Mountain Swing Guitar Camp.
Michael Isabell, Lisa Liu & Greg Ruby
Duration: 2 Hours
All Levels
Three perspectives. One collaborative coaching experience.
Bring everything you've learned throughout the weekend into a supportive, hands-on ensemble setting. Working in small groups, you'll perform, listen, and receive personalized coaching from all three faculty members as they help your ensemble develop stronger communication, deeper listening, greater confidence, and a more connected musical voice.
Rather than focusing on individual technique alone, the Faculty Ensemble Lab explores what makes an ensemble truly come alive. Together we'll work on groove, accompaniment, dynamics, interaction, phrasing, and the subtle musical choices that transform a collection of players into a cohesive band.
Whether you're supporting a soloist, trading ideas with another guitarist, or finding your place within the ensemble, you'll receive practical, constructive feedback that you can immediately apply to rehearsals, jam sessions, and performances long after the weekend is over.
You'll Explore
- Ensemble communication and musical interaction
- Listening as an active performance skill
- Groove, pulse, and rhythmic cohesion
- Dynamics, phrasing, and musical support
- Building confidence in small ensemble settings
- Personalized coaching from all three faculty members
More than a coaching session, the Faculty Ensemble Lab is an opportunity to experience what great ensemble playing feels like. It's where the ideas of the weekend become music, and where listening, trust, and collaboration come together to create something greater than any one player could achieve alone.
Because workshop sizes are intentionally limited and planning begins well in advance of the event, registrations are non-refundable.
If you're unable to attend due to illness or an unforeseen circumstance, please contact us as soon as possible. While refunds cannot be offered, we'll do our best to make sure your registration still provides value.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Transferring your registration to another participant.
- Receiving a credit toward a future Rocky Mountain Swing Guitar Camp.
- Arranging a future online coaching session with one of the faculty members, when available.
- Alternative educational opportunities at the discretion of the instructors.
Our goal is simple: we want every registration to result in meaningful musical growth, even if life gets in the way.
