Great rhythm guitar is about more than keeping time. It shapes the energy of an ensemble through pulse, dynamics, listening, and musical interaction. Rhythm isn't just something you play. It's a relationship you build with the musicians around you.
In this interactive workshop, we'll explore the art of accompaniment by developing a solid swing feel, listening deeply, and learning how to communicate through rhythm. We'll compare different approaches to accompaniment, discover how dynamics and articulation influence the music, and explore the subtle choices that help an ensemble breathe, swing, and connect.
Whether you're supporting a soloist, locking in with another guitarist, or driving an entire band, you'll leave with practical tools to create accompaniment that is confident, expressive, and deeply musical. Because when rhythm becomes a conversation, everyone sounds better.
Because workshop sizes are intentionally limited and planning begins well in advance of the event, registrations are non-refundable.
If you're unable to attend due to illness or an unforeseen circumstance, please contact us as soon as possible. While refunds cannot be offered, we'll do our best to make sure your registration still provides value.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Transferring your registration to another participant.
- Receiving a credit toward a future Rocky Mountain Swing Guitar Camp.
- Arranging a future online coaching session with one of the faculty members, when available.
- Alternative educational opportunities at the discretion of the instructors.
